Brickdin offers background services to connect KNX to a number of systems that don't natively support this protocol. Although Brickdin does not offer any visualization option, it takes advantage of all the functions already integrated in ThinKnx servers and permits to control multiple systems such as Sonos, Modbus, Legrand BTicino, etc, in a bidirectional and fully configurable way.
It is also possible to use Brickdin to collect data (reporting, KNX logger) or to check in real-time the service continuity of the plant (ping of KNX devices or network). In addition, the internal services available on ThinKnx servers are also present on Brickdin, like preprogrammable sceneries, generic gateways, alert messaging, logical functions, etc.
Brick Upgrades

Sonos
It allows you to control the Sonos system from ThinKnx UI and interact with the players also from KNX plants. Status like play, pause or shuffle, volume control, track descriptions and cover art are visible into the ThinKnx client devices and available on KNX bus.

Security
It allows to make a bidirectional control between KNX and all alarm devices integrated into the ThinKnx system. All feedbacks from sensors are available on KNX. Sending telegrams is possible in case of emergency or when an event is triggered. Activating/deactivating alarm devices is available through a 14-byte string.

Modbus
It allows the bidirectional connection of Modbus bus (RTU or TCP) to KNX bus. RS232 and RS485 ports are available to connect directly to Modbus. It supports all the standard communication functions and all the datapoint types. It also implements advanced modes of data grouping to optimize reading on Modbus. There are no limitations in the number of usable datapoints.

Philips Hue
It allows to control Philips Hue lights from KNX buses. It is possible to simulate RGB elements or white lamps by configuring the colour temperature. Created elements can be integrated into the scenes and controlled from KNX devices.

Legrand Bticino
It allows the bidirectional connection of legrand Bticino plants with KNX plants. Through simple charts it is possible to create associations between the messages coming from the two worlds.

Audio video
It allows to manage audio and video devices installed in the plant. It enables also the serial gateway and Ethernet gateway features that allows to create custom commands to interface with most of the devices on the market.

Report
It allows to collect data from KNX plants (both locally and on the cloud), to generate reports and to continuously store KNX telegrams (logger modality). All the data can be sent via e-mail to multiple recipients and organize in tables or charts. It also allows to set periodic tests about the correct functioning of KNX devices in the plant (through their physical address) or of devices in the network (ping or test connection through TCP/UDP ports). In case of malfunctioning alarms via SMS or e-mail can be sent.

Lutron
It allows the bidirectional connection between Lutron plants and KNX plants. The integration allows to associate KNX groups to Lutron lights, making the devices in the Lutron plant controllable by KNX buttons or supervision. Both Lutron HomeWorks and Lutron HomeWorks QS are integrated into the ThinKnx system and enable a bidirectional communication from KNX, in order to easily control lights and blinds.
